Isner vs Mahut Marathon Match at Wimbledon Beat Out Bolt’s 9.58 Second Dash for Honor

John Isner’s career will forever be defined by The Match, his 70-68 in the fifth victory over Nicolas Mahut during Wimbledon 2010, and it has won the two the ESPY for the year's best record-breaking performance. As they beat Usain Bolt’s 9.58 second 100 meter run.

Isner accepted the award at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles from Olympic snowboarder Shaun White and Olympic alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn, who held off Serena Williams to be named female athlete of the year.

Federer was named as best male tennis player, Serena Williams as best female tennis player and Kim Clijsters received a special award for best comeback.

The ESPYs were begun by cable sports channel ESPN in 1993, allowing sports fans worldwide to join in an online vote for their favorites in such categories as Best Male Athlete, Best Female Athlete, Best Coach/Manager, and Team of the Year.
